Hotel Calafia is one of the oldest Hotels and landmarks in Rosarito Beach.  Part of the old Mission San Diego De Alcala, founded in 1769.  Famous for its outdoor bar / restaurant, its dance floor, and the old pirate ship playhouse, all built right on the ocean surf's edge.  With tiers of tables & chairs overlooking the dance floor.  You will always find good music and atmosphere here.  There are two items that you should be cautious about, If you go here to dance in the evening.  The ocean surf (mist) throws up a fine coat of water on the dance floor and it can become very slippery and hazardous.  Secondly and foremost, the road here is very dangerous and winding.  You can very easily go over the cliff if you are not careful.  It is a must to have a designated driver if you plan on clubbing it here and driving back into town on this narrow road!  The Hotel also has an excellent formal restaurant.
