Puerto Nuevo is a small tourist area just south of
Rosarito Beach along the costal road. It is famous for its
restaurants, which all serve lobster, and its small shops. There is ample
parking and you can pay one of the local kids a couple of dollars to watch your
car. You do not need to, Its just a kind way to help out the kids in the
area. You can get there by driving out of Rosarito Beach and continueing
to head south along the two lane coastal road or you can take the toll road and
exit just past the Fox Baja Studio's site. This video shows you some of
the restaurants, like Ortega's and The Lobster House, plus many others, and
little shops like Coco Peli's. These
shops
offer things like Mexican blankets and pottery and there is even one that sells
mexican candy. Although we are not
recommending any particular shop, the first one that you will come upon at the
entrance to the town is Coco Peli's number one. Chances are that you will
run into Octavio, who runs the place and you can tell him that you saw his
picture on RosaritoBeach.com and you want the web site's discount!
There are two young women who work
at Coco Peli's that braid hair. They charge twenty dollars for a full
braid and ten dollars to braid half of your hair. We have been told they
are the best in Puerto Nuevo! Click on the images below to see a full size

of the other tourists that you find there and you will undoubtedly find some one
who is a regular visitor to the area that will give you some good advice on the
best place's to eat, as well as other tips on things to see in the area.
